MEPS to forge new relationships at Wire and Tube 2024

11th April 2024

MEPS International representatives will be discussing the latest steel price insight with attendees at the Wire and Tube Trade Fair 2024, in Dusseldorf.

Steel market analysts Chris Jackson, Michael Hill and Stuart Gray will be attending the four-day event (April 15 to 19), at the Messe Dusseldorf exhibition centre, on behalf of the UK-based steel price and market insight provider.

Discussing the steel industry’s latest challenges and opportunities will be the three price experts’ top priority. All three agree that the opportunity to meet established contacts and forge new steel industry relationships in-person is what makes the annual trade fair an invaluable opportunity.

‘Unique’ networking opportunity

Jackson said: “The Dusseldorf Wire and Tube fair is one of the major events in the steel calendar. It’s a unique opportunity to meet key stakeholders across the supply chain.

“The timing of the event provides the ideal opportunity to assess market prospects for Q2 and for the rest of the year.”

MEPS International’s team of researchers gather information from key steel market participants in 28 countries, across five continents, to compile the accurate information that underpins its prices, indices, monthly market reviews and forward forecasts.

As well as sharing insight with Wire and Tube attendees, Jackson, Gray and Hill will also be seeking out potential MEPS research partners at next month’s event in Dusseldorf.

No shortage of hot topics

"In the steel industry – and the world of steel prices, in particular – there is never a shortage of hot topics to debate”, said Gray.

"Market activity may be subdued right now, but that only heightens interest in the market's direction. It's the role of MEPS to gather information from key industry stakeholders and determine exactly what that direction is, and it will be a pleasure to do that with the help of in-person discussions with visitors at Wire and Tube 2024."

Hill said that he was looking forward to renewing old acquaintances and making new contacts in Dusseldorf. He added: “Wire and Tube allows many steel market participants to gather in one place and MEPS aims to be at the heart of the conversation.”

Wire and Tube 2024 is an international trade fair for industries in wire, tube, and cable production sectors.

Around 1,300 exhibitors are expected to participate in the event, which is expected to attract over 38,000 trade visitors from 76 countries.
